Ben and West’s school has two orchestras. West is in the 6th grade one and Ben is in the 7th/8th grade one. Both orchestras recently had seating auditions and Ben and West were both selected as concertmaster of their orchestra as a result.
Other Ben and West music news: I posted recently (on my old site) that Ben won this year’s concerto competition with the Oak Park River Forest Symphony Orchestra, playing Tzigane by Ravel. He will be playing this in a concert with them January 14. The Symphony’s home page has an announcement about the concert. If you scroll down the page there’s a photo of Ben and some information about him he e-mailed them.

The year-end piano recital is coming up this Sunday afternoon and the year-end orchestra concert will be on December 22nd.
