In the Bible the same word is used to mean “temptation” and “testing”. It seems to me that I face tests or temptation all day long as a Mom. I’m tempted to eat food I don’t need, since I’m often around the kitchen. And sometimes being with my children all day and still smiling at the end of the day is a big challenge!
It’s easy for me to get discouraged at how often I seem to give in to these temptations. At those times I’m glad to know that Jesus does understand and will help me if I ask. These Bible passages are very reassuring to me:
