2009 OPRF Symphony Concerto Competition
Esther played the first movement of the Mendelssohn Violin concerto in E Minor for the Oak Park River Forest Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition yesterday.
As always, the issue with competitions is the competition; she was up against some other excellent violinists and one of them won. I thought it was some of Esther’s best violin playing ever and the chair of the orchestra seemed impressed. As he walked Esther out he said “nice job” and then to me “She’s really coming along!”
