On Monday I told my doctor I’m continuing to have symptoms. Mostly they’re in the category of “inconvenient and mildly painful” rather than, they significantly change what I’m able to do during each day. I’m glad about that.

Last month my doctor talked to me about other medication options after a test showed disease that the current meds evidently weren’t helping with. In view of how I’m doing she suggested changing meds now. She started me on Entocort and sent me for a blood test to check I can take Imuran. I’ll start that when the results come back assuming I’m not in the 0.3% of people who can’t metabolize it.

I’m going to have a colonoscopy next Tuesday so she can see the extent of the disease for herself. I had one last fall but I was seeing a different doctor then.

(I also wrote about this on Conversation at the Edge)

Breaking May (the band Ben is in) live in concert March 10, 2008. Ben is on the left playing the keyboard.

This is one of five clips of the band from that event. They wrote the three songs they played that evening.

Esther had a haircut yesterday in which she asked for a “face frame with layers”.

Ben had his hair cut recently shorter than it has been for a while.

Ben had braces put on his teeth yesterday morning. They were hurting yesterday evening but he was relieved that they were feeling somewhat better when he woke up today.

Evidently his friends at school had said today would be the worst day so he was worried after what they felt like last night.

One of the goals is to close up the gap between Ben’s front teeth, so there is a lot of pulling on those two teeth in particular. The gap was gone three hours after they went on – no wonder his front teeth hurt!

Esther is probably getting braces in the next few weeks too. We’ll find out tomorrow when we go discuss the plan for her with the orthodontist. Somehow Esther caught up with Ben or Ben lagged behind Esther so that they both reached this stage at the same time.
